New OnePlus 2 To Feature 4GB LPDDR4 RAM

New OnePlus 2 Will Feature 4GB LPDDR4 RAM

Its official! OnePlus 2 will feature 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed the speculation which has been around for some time, while promising it would bring faster loading times, better app processing, smooth game play without hampering on performance because it is designed in such way to be battery efficient.

Another notable benefit is lower power consumption for better battery efficiency. That means youll be able to use your favorite apps (and more) without draining the battery. With LPDDR4, you get twice the bandwidth performance as the LPDDR3 at the same power consumption profile. The RAM of the OnePlus 2 uses a lower operating voltage than its predecessor, decreasing from 1.2V to 1.1V. And with speeds up to 32 GB/s, it is also twice as fast as the LPDDR3.

For now, what we know is that OnePlus 2 will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chipset, USB type-C connector, fingerprint scanner and a price tag of $450.

The hotly anticipated device will launch on July 27 at a virtual reality event, which can be viewed using OnePlus Cardboard VR.
