Nokia and RIM enter into new patent license agreement

Nokia and RIM enter into new patent license agreement

RIM payments to Nokia settle all legal actions between the companies

Espoo, Finland - Nokia has entered into a new patent license agreement with Research In Motion. The agreement will result in settlement of all existing patent litigation between the companies and withdrawal of pending actions in the US, UK and Canada related to a recent arbitration tribunal decision.
The financial structure of the agreement includes a one-time payment and on-going payments, all from RIM to Nokia.  The specific terms of the agreement are confidential.
"We are very pleased to have resolved our patent licensing issues with RIM and reached this new agreement, while maintaining Nokias ability to protect our unique product differentiation," said Paul Melin, chief intellectual property officer at Nokia. "This agreement demonstrates Nokias industry leading patent portfolio and enables us to focus on further licensing opportunities in the mobile communications market."
During the last two decades, Nokia has invested approximately EUR 45 billion in research and development and built the wireless industrys strongest and broadest IPR portfolio, with around 10,000 patent families.  Nokia is a world leader in the development of handheld device and mobile communications technologies, which is also demonstrated by Nokias strong patent position.

NOKIA BERSAMA MICROSOFT TANTANG RIM BLACKBERRY

NOKIA BERSAMA MICROSOFT TANTANG RIM BLACKBERRY

New RIM OS BlackBerry 10 is coming

New RIM OS BlackBerry 10 is coming

It seems that the world have already forget the blackberry. People in the globe put their eyes on android and ios, especially for the apple products. With the Apple press conference at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center on September 12, iPhone 5 is the hot topic since then. Now iPhone 5 hit 5 million sales since then. Not any other smartphones can compare with it, it is really amazing.

After about one year’s delay, The RIM finally open its next-generation BlackBerry 10 operating system at the companys annual developer conference to get another chance to prove their worth , which was on Sept 25,2012 in San Jose, Calif. But people have to wait at least 5 months to see the new blackberry products.
It can be sure that Blackberry 10 will get L,N and M series. But rumor comes that there is a hidden R series which amie to entry-level users. If so, this will help to grow Blackberry 10 platform’s market share.

So what can we expect from Blackberry 10?
Let first look at some pictures from the BlackBerry developer conference.

1 The company is expected to tell us about some of the other its key aspects, hopefully including more of its camera innovations and immersive features like social networking and communications.

2 As for the blackberry users, RIMs browser has always been a weak spot. So we would see a browser with a speedy reaction during the keynote address. Were also guaranteed to get a heavy dose of security considerations and enthusiastic encouragement for Android developers to port their apps to the new BlackBerry OS.

3 RIM is placing extra emphasis on its BlackBerry App World catalog, promising to launch BlackBerry 10 OS with more apps than any other smartphone OS which means its rigidity and stodgier tools helped it largely miss out on the app explosion that occurred for Apples iOS and Googles Android platform.

Let watch this Youtube video for BlackBerry 10 in action - First Look
